MEET THE CHEF

Li moved to the UK from Beijing 19 years ago. She soon found she missed authentic East Asian food, which fueled her interest in Chinese and Japanese cooking techniques and flavours.

Li took the skills she learnt through watching the older generations in her family cooking throughout her childhood and started cooking for family and friends. With their feedback and encouragement, she decided to branch out. She started with fundraising events for the local schools and other charities. Garden parties and artists’ exhibitions were held at the Manor, together with banquets for up to 120 in Bratton Clovelly Village Hall. Li rapidly developed her unique and sophisticated cuisine, pairing her cooking abilities with a suite of kitchen management skills. Firstly, she catered for guests staying in the Manor’s cottages. She then diversified to put on private lunches and dinners.

Now, Li runs supper clubs, brunches, and lunches for guests staying at the Manor, as well as foodies from throughout Devon and Cornwall. She creates bespoke menus to for individual tastes. She thoroughly enjoys introducing authentic flavours and fine dining from East Asia and has a personal mission to bring her exquisite cuisine to the South West.
